First Reconciliation & First Eucharist – Grade 2
Children in Grade 2 are prepared to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation (celebrated in February) and First Eucharist (celebrated in May) through a thorough and formative approach that includes:
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
Weekly atrium sessions designed to nurture a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Classroom Instruction
Classroom teachers provide sacramental preparation as part of the school day.
Parental Involvement
Parents serve as essential partners in their child’s sacramental journey by:
Teaching at-home sacramental preparation materials.
Attending scheduled parent informational sessions.
Participating in retreats, practices, and the sacramental celebrations themselves.
Confirmation – Grade 8
Confirmation is the Sacrament that completes Christian initiation. It seals the grace of the Holy Spirit in the baptized, confirming them as followers of Christ.
Students prepare for Confirmation throughout their years at Epiphany, with focused formation in Grade 8. Theology classes led by Deacon Gunderson provide a solid foundation in Catholic teaching.
Monthly events and a culminating weekend retreat help students deepen their relationship with Christ and their communion with His Church.

RCIC – Rite of Christian Initiation of Children
The RCIC program at Epiphany is designed for children in grades 3–7 who have not yet received the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, or First Communion.
This formation journey is a partnership between the parish and families.
Parents play a vital role by:
Teaching faith materials at home
Attending parent/child informational sessions
Participating in retreats, practices, and sacramental celebrations
Class sessions are scheduled based on the availability of catechists.
